Advertising as Art 4

Agency: Lew'Lara\TBWA, Brazil

This is such a peaceful advertisement. It makes me want to be at the beach immediately. I love the sunlight streaming through the hands and the bright, colorful butterflies resting on the palms. I don't know if I particularly love the copy, but the image itself is great.

Advertising as Art 3

"Sony Bravia:Pyramids"
Agency: Y&R, Asia

Sony Bravia's idea of "colour" is always portrayed in the most interesting and beautiful way. This commercial amazes me each time I watch it. The effect of color is enhanced against the Egyptian sandy brown pyramids. The amount of colorful string used to cover an entire pyramid is unreal. I like how all the bright colors used contrast to the neutral sand to accurately portray Sony's vision of colour. I also love how the threads blast down the pyramid to the beat of the music.

Advertising as Art 2

Agency: Rethink, Vancouver

This ad takes a boring subject of scholarships and transforms it into something cool. The concept is that a black book can win you a full scholarship to Langara's Communication and Ideation Design Program. This is a great ad for all the science gurus out there. I like the way the atomic balls are designed like a sculpture or a tree that is growing out of the tiny black book.

Advertising as Art

"River of Chocolate"
Agency: BBDO, New York

I love this commercial. I think it is art because of the use of color, music and motion. Only one object (the M&M) is used and the colors easily flow from one to the next in a way that is very eye-catching. The waves rumble and evolve with the beat of the laid-back music. It is simple, pretty, keeps the audience entertained, and makes me want to go eat M&M's!
