"Diddy says BK is open late"
Ugh. "Diddy" drives me nuts. For one, he's actually not that cool. Two, I'm sorry but you're REALLY not cool if you change your name 56345 times. The point of this commercial is that if Diddy says BK is open late, then everyone will listen and rush to BK for late night. Hm, no thanks.
Agency: VitroRobertson, San Diego
"Taylor"
I think this has a great visual effect. They didn't try to do a commercial with a rockstar rocking out on his guitar or a country singer at a concert. Instead they set up a really nice picture that creates the essence of what a guitar really is. The copy reads "Two worlds. One link between them."
Agency: Cliff Freeman & Partners, NYC
"Quizno's 5 dollars"
This is gross- and there were at least 3 of these, one featuring a guy eating actual dimes. Blah, not appealing!! I did think the Toasty Torpedo commercial for quiznos was funny, but a little too sexual for a simple food chain.
Agency: Kirshenbaum Bond, New York
"Meatatarians Unite"
This was a viral ad done by Kirshenbaum for Wendy's. I like it because there are so many pro-vegetarian ads and campaigns out there and this one supports the meat lovers of the world. After taking advertising literacy I've realized that I really enjoy all the viral ads. They are low-key but it is so interesting to see how quickly they spread throughout the Internet. They cause a great deal of buzz which is great for the advertising agencies and their clients!
